Trifocal / Multifocal Lenses

A standard intraocular lens corrects vision at only one distance typically far leaving patients reaching for reading glasses for close tasks and computer glasses for intermediate work. This means exchanging one pair of glasses for another, which is not the independence most patients expect from lens surgery.

Trifocal and Multifocal IOLs, implanted through the same 2.2 mm micro-incision during cataract surgery or RLE, split light across three focal zones distance, intermediate, and near giving clear vision at all distances in the same eye. Approximately 90–95% of recipients achieve complete spectacle independence.
